American Cancer Society Hope Lodge (LDS Church Reclamation)

Project Summary: We are excited to announce an upcoming joint project with Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity (HFH). Over the summer, TRP will coordinate with HFH to host 10 volunteer deconstruction events at the site of the future Hope Lodge. Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity, local companies, and the general public will pry, pull, and leverage as much reusable material from an existing 1950's LDS church in downtown Salt Lake City. This event will not only showcase deconstruction to Utah, but demonstrate the American Cancer Society's commitment to the health and longevity of the community. We anticipate salvaging nearly 8000 square feet of hardwood flooring, dozens of doors, thousands of linear feet of wood and trim, and many other fixtures. Some of this material will be reused in the ACS's Hope Lodge, but most will go to the Restore and help further the work of Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity. Please check back for more information on dates, progress, and how you can get involved!
Location: 100 S. 400 E. Salt Lake City, UT.
